State of the Industry

Wednesday, December 10
Speakers: Clarice Turner (President and CEO, ABC), and Bob Silveira (ABC Board of Directors Chair)

The 2025 State of the Industry presentation at The Almond Conference will center on the theme “Cultivating a Healthier Future.” Led by Clarice Turner, the session will acknowledge industry challenges, while highlighting how industry resilience combined with the Almond Board’s focus on innovation and global demand-driving efforts will help us pave the way for a successful future. We’ll also mark an important milestone: 75 years since the Federal Marketing Order was signed for almonds in 1950 under President Harry S. Truman, at the request of California almond farmers.

Key segments will include economic insights from Scott Clemons, a moderated discussion with select Board members past and present, and a global marketing update from Emily Fleischmann and Craig Duerr. The marketing update will provide context for all of ABC's work that goes into demand building, how we work hard to stretch each dollar, and the exciting new activities to expand reach, strengthen consumer trust, and elevate California almonds worldwide. The session will showcase industry highlights, demonstrate how ABC is rethinking its marketing approach, and reinforce its commitment to supporting growers and advancing the California almond industry.

TAC 2025 Breakfast Session
Breakfast Session: Almonds in Action: Driving Innovation in Food and Beverage

Thursday, December 11
Speakers: Clarice Turner (ABC), Emily Fleischmann (ABC), Lu Ann Williams (Innova Market Insights), Amy Cesta (Schafer Condon Carter), Dr Amitoj Singh (BCG)

Walk through any grocery store in the U.S., and you’ll spot almonds in everything from plant-based beverages to indulgent snacks and better-for-you bakery items. The numbers back up what you see on the shelves: nearly half of all almonds in the U.S. and Europe are used as ingredients in food and beverage products. Today, new opportunities for almond ingredients are emerging in foodservice and fast-growing markets like India.

In this session, you’ll hear from Lu Ann Williams, Co-Founder of Innova Market Insights, on the trends driving almond innovation, and almond-forward product companies. Plus, learn how the Almond Board of California uses these insights to spark action, build partnerships and inspire food manufacturers to use more almonds.
